Beef Northwest Launches Prime Start Program in Eastern Oregon

At Beef Northwest, we believe in the power of young people to shape the future of agriculture, and we are committed to making sure they have the tools, support, and real-world experience to do it. No matter students’ backgrounds, if they have the drive to work hard, learn deeply, and lead with purpose, Prime Start may be the opportunity they have been waiting for.

Participants are provided with animals, feed, pen space at the Prime Start lot, and veterinary care at virtually no cost. Students in Prime Start are immersed in all aspects of cattle production. They take responsibility for feeding, health monitoring, data collection of growth and efficiency, and record-keeping. We’re looking for students who are serious about the work, eager to learn, and ready to step up to the challenge. In return, you’ll gain a foundation that can launch a meaningful career in any industry you choose along with the profits earned from the project.

We’re thrilled about the upcoming year and the potential to welcome passionate, hardworking students into the Prime Start family. This is more than a program- it’s a commitment to excellence, growth, and the future of agriculture in Eastern Oregon and beyond.
